VVBOOM awarded $3K commercial district capital grant
Some good news arrived late yesterday afternoon; VVBOOM received $3,000 to complete a wayfinding signage project to the Leland Avenue commercial corridor. While the details of the signage are yet to be finalized, there will be two signs installed on Bayshore Blvd directing both north and southbound drivers to "Downtown Visitacion Valley". We're anxious to get this project going and appreciative to the Mayor's Office of Workforce and Economic Development. There is no doubt San Francisco owes much of its global appeal to the unique character of its neighborhood commercial districts. We're thankful the City recognizes that the small businesses that populate these commercial corridors are the lifeblood of our local economy. To help ensure that these corridors weather this economic storm the Mayor's Office awarded VVBOOM (among others) one-time funding for strategic capital projects that will help strengthen the district and stimulate the local economy. Projects were selected that have short-term time frames but long-lasting positive impacts within the neighborhood.
